My mum bought the sims 2 when it first came out and when we installed it. The broadband didn’t work anymore. We thought it was conincidence, but we tried a couple of months later and still the same thing happened and then we tried again just to make sure. We rung up the person that we always go to for computer problems and he said that the broadband must be unconpatible with the game. Is tere any other reason and how can we stop it to allow me to play the game?

How do I connect a laptop and a computer with an ethernet cable?

I’m trying to connect my laptop and a desktop my uncle gave me so I can use the desktop as primary storage for both of the computers. I don’t really care if the desktop gets internet access, but right now I can’t get the two computers to “talk” to each other at all. I have them connected to each other via ethernet cable… now what?

Would I get double the connection speed if I connected two mobile broadband modems to my computer?

If I connect two mobile broadband modems to my PC, would I get double the download speed since both of them are streaming data? Would they interfere with each other? If they share the same radio frequency, would that make them share the available bandwidth on that frequency like two computers streaming data from the same landline?

What if I have two computers and I connect them to separate mobile broadband modems. Would their combined download speed be doubled?

Just curious…
Thanks for the responses – it seems the limitation is in the operating systems, and not the hardware then? What about the two (unnetworked) computers with separate modems approach? If they both had 8mbit wireless modems would each of them independently be able to download with 8mbit speed, thus giving a maximum speed of 16mbit? I know it would work if it was two separate landlines but with two wireless modems I’m curious about interference.

Oh, and just for clarification I’m just curious about how these unusual setups would work in theory, I’m actually not planning to do any of this! :D

I have a coffee shop and want to offer computer access unsure what type of system to use?

I would like to offer five computer stations for my customers to browse the internet. I am wired for phone but not cable. In addition I would like to offer wireless internet access for the customers. There is an area set aside for five computers, the computers and wireless connections will get constant use but with a tight budget I am unsure whether to use a terminal-to-host, file server, or clinet/server. I would like a quality set up that is only expensive as need be. I am also unsure what type of protocol and network switching device to use for 5 computers on the LAN and for wireless access. In regards to cabling, I need a media type that would be best suited for my project and unsure which telecommunications device to purchase as well as the internet type that would best suit the customer’s. I know this sounds like alot but I believe that my customer’s would love this new feature and I know that they would get alot of use.
The coffee shop seems like a pretty popular local hangout and I know that the computers would get constant use, but it would not bring me any profit except for the fact I may draw more customers that would like to check their email or access the internet. I hope to sell more coffee.

Can someone give me a guide on hooking up my XBOX 360 to my computer?

I just got an XBOX 360 and I can’t figure out how to download my media onto my XBOX hard drive from the computer. I hooked up my 360 to the back of my computer where I would usually hook up the CAT5 cable to go to the modem. I opened Windows Media 11 and turned media sharing on but my XBOX still won’t find my computer. If it helps I have a router I can hook my 360 and computer up to if I need to.

I need a step by step walkthrough telling me what to do. 10 points to whoever figures it out first.
