Can anyone help me correct this problem? All I have to do is restart the computer and I have my connection back, but it gets to be a nuisance when I am in the and I lose my connection.

I had a winsock provider catalog problem and it persisted until to a point where when I use the network diagnosis, it will no longer display that but something like : Please contact your computer provider for help or some sort.
Then I reformatted my computer and installed back my xp sp2 one week before. But now, the winsock provider catalog came back again.
If anyone can help, I will be most grateful.

I cant get online because computer gives me winsock cataolog error any suggestions? try resatrt still no connection. computyer said restart but it didnt work

My computer just suddenly stops and when I diagnose connections problems I am always told that there is a problem with the winsock provider catalog.

I have attempted to discover what this ‘thing’ is to no avail. It is obviously something I need to address.
