i have 256 kbps connection but i don’t know what i need to make calls and
my friend told me to buy a router so i did but the phone didn’t fit what do i need ?

I’ve been looking everywhere for one and they offer free calls unless you want to call an actual phone. Magic Jack only works in windows. If it needs to be downloaded then is it linux compatable since I’m running Ubuntu?

I’ve check out VOIPStunt. They offer free trial call is it true that it’s really free or will it be charged to my phone because it was asking for my phone number aside from the destination phone. Also it claims that if I buy the 10 Euro credit I could call unlimited (no time limit) to the free destination listed (Italy and US were included) for 120 days. Has anyone tried this? I just want to be sure there isn’t any other conditions or fine lines I’ve missed. Thanks for any information that may help.

Im not trying to call a landline or cell for now, just a skype user.

I use my headphones at work nearly all the time. Since the LAN line runs directly from my CISCO phone to my computer, is there some way (software etc) that I can apply so that an incoming call shows up in the corner of my computer monitor or something??? Let’s go techies, show me the money! Thanks

I have not been able to find anything like this for the average consumer. I have seen high end PBX systems that will do it, but nothing small, simple and cheap. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this?

I got a separate telephone number on my first PSTN home phone line with distinctive ring for the purposes of receiving faxes, which is a cheaper alternative to paying for a second line. My all-in-one printer supports picking up on distinctive ring. However, I am concerned that if the fax machine is in the middle of receiving a fax, what if I have to dial 911 for an emergency? Wouldn’t I have to physically disconnect the fax machine from the line and wait for the line to reset? Is there a safe way to do this and still allow me to dial 911 without delay? Is having fax on distinctive ring on the same line considered safe enough for most home users in this context?

Is it through VOIP or simply by the wireline PSTN network. If by VOIP then what are the call charges or the package charges… whatever???

Just with a broadband connection, without having to pay anyone, how can we make International calls over the Internet .

I am using 2 different voip providers to call 2 different free destinations. Now is there any way to connect these 2 calls to make a conference call. any software that can help.

What exactly is the setting up charges for a VOIP facility?

I would like the caller to have several options, some that give further menu options, some options will play messages, and other options will connect the caller to a live operator. I can record the prompts myself. The calls should be answered on a VOIP phone.
It must have an IVR to answer common questions automatically and be able to handle multiple simultaneous calls. Probably 3 callers at a time will suffice.
