What I mean is, will it work with an Ethernet cable to take the place of a USB cord.
No, I’m not trying to use it as an internet connection, I’m using it to access all of my Xbox files, etc, but will it work?

I am planning on getting a ethernet cable for xbox 360 live, but im not sure if there is a certain cord or make i have to have or should have?

i found some cheap ones but im not sure if there what i can use one says “Cat5E Crossover Cables – Booted” the other says “Cat5E Patch Cables – Regular Crimped ” is there a difference between booted and crimped?

I have a homemade cantenna made out of a USB11 Network adapter. How can I split this usb cable to go to two laptops? I have a WGT54 wireless router but how can I connect my USB to it or convert my usb cable to Cat5? Help I cannot figure it out.

I’ve heard that I can’t use the cable that came with my Xbox 360 Elite. I’ve also heard that I need a special CROSSOVER Ethernet Cable. Is this true?

im trying to get xbox live and i measured where i need to get the cable and its just barely more than 100 feet. is there any certain store or place online that has cables longer than 100 feet. all the place around where i live only have the 100s. Will a longer cord make it any slower? is there any way to connect 2 ethernet cords together?

I always used to unplug my ethernet cable from my desktop computer and connect it to my laptop so I could access the internet. I have windows vista and now out of no where it wont work. My laptop wont even recognize that an ethernet cable has been plugged in. What can I try?

i need to have a 100MB near my HiDefTV from my office/Computer room (which has FIOS 100Mb Ethernet).. i have two options either use Coaxial network or Telephone nework.. both Office / TV room have access to Coaxial/Telephone wiring. Tried 802.11 54G wireless, but bandwidth for home-network streaming not sufficient (not consistent).. thanks in advance for any advise.
i do have a CAT5 cable but only 2-wires used for a phone.. So my home is pretty much ethernet pass through ?.. How does this work.. withouth a switch.. can i connect multiple hosts ?.. another question.. can i continue to use my telephone line ?

OK, forget the original question. Here’s a new one.

From start to finish, what EXACTLY do I need, besides an Ethernet cable, to connect my XBOX with an Ethernet cable? The guy at Radio Shack said I need a Fast Ethernet Switch by NETGEAR. Does it come with a cable to connect the switch to the computer? All I want is a straight-forward answer with minimal technical talk. And I’m possibly going to do this whole wired connection instead of wireless because I never have consistency in my online gaming.

My laptop is connected through the internet through it’s own built-in wi-fi connection. The router is in my cousin’s room. If I connect an ethernet cable from my 20GB PS3 to my wireless laptop, will I be able to connect to the internet on my PS3? If not, any serious ideas?

I just installed Win98 on my old computer, I want to connect it to the Internet from my base computer running Vista. I had Linux installed before, where I’d just plug the Ethernet cable from one computer to the other, and I was running Internet on both. Since putting 98 I can’t get it too work, I’m sure it’s a setting in 98. Could someone help me out?

I have just brought a new house and the main telephone point is in the hall way but there are no powerpoints there for the phone and modem so i need to extend the phone line near to a powerpoint. I have done this but I am not sure it it is ok just to put the adsl filter at the end of the extension line (with an adapter) or whether i have to have the adsl filter at the main socket and then also run the modem cable around the hosuer as well
