I am connected to BT (ISP) in the UK. I just want to know if being closer to an ADSL exchange makes any difference to broadband speed.

My dad needs me to help him write a letter explaining the benefits of bringing broadband internet to a small town that only has dial-up currently available. I just need help about specific ways it will help businesses and residents because I do not have much experience with it. Thank you .

what are cost and benefits for a voip provider comparing to normal phone companies ? i don’t know some cost but benefits might be location is not important example Skype is worldwide but there is no office in example Bahamas but you can still use it there.

Im setting up Thunderbird for my IMAP/SMTP account and it’s giving me an error that the server does not support SSL. Is this a big problem or am I ok to just go ahead and use it without SSL?

What are the benefits of using Cat5e cable to wire your phones? Once you connect it to a rj11 modular plug you still are only connecting 4 wires (only 2 of which are being used!). Thanks for your help!

What would the benefits be from a data perspective? (DSL)

Many call centers are running CRM applications such as Siebel, or SAP. They can create integration between the telephony system and the CRM system… But why would you do this? What are the benefits? Also, you can generate the same kind of integration with email systems. Why would you do this? Are there clear arguments for these kind of functionality?
