Hi, i was looking to buy a Belkin N+ router. The description says it supports gigabit so 1000mbs. At bestbuy.com it says comes with a RJ45 cable. I was wondering if that could support a 1000mbs connection. When i type it in it says Cat5/5e, well which one is it, cause i know cat5e supports gigabit but cat5 doesnt, so do i need to buy a cat5e or cat6 cable or does the RJ45 work?

I’m using a Belkin F5D8236 and a PPPoE connection.

I have 2 ps3 profiles. When I do easy wireless setup with one it comes up with NAT type 2 and it worked fine the first time I played GTAIV. The second time I tried it it wouldn’t connect properly (taking me to rooms where I’m the only one there)

The other profile when I setup wireless the exact same way it comes up with NAT type 2 and “the router in use may not support IP fragments, and the communication features of some games may be restricted. for details, contact the router manufacturer”

Why are these two different profiles using the exact same setup not working correctly?

I have tried manually setting IP’s and DNS’s and applying the Ps3 to a static address and using that static address to apply different ports and putting it in the DMZ list but that doesn’t work either, I still get Type 2 and the “the router in use may not support IP fragments…….”

I have also tried the manual PPPoE setup option in the Ps3, but that gives me a Type 1 connection and that doesn’t connect me properly to rooms in GTAIv either.

I have called my ISP, they couldn’t help. I called Belkin and they walked me through setting up my connection and we tried the port entry and the associate there gave me some DNS #’s to input manually but that didn’t work. I have tried those DNS’s (4.2.2.2. and 4.2.2.3.)plus using my LAN IP address as the DNS as well (which is what the Ps3 says is my DNS when i check the settings).

If someone can walk me through from the beginning on how to connect the ps3 wireless with a PPPoE and connect me properly to room in GTAIV I would be greatly obliged.

I’m trying to get my remote desktop connection web service working. It works if I use my internal IP (192.168.2.4) however I cannot get to it from my external IP. I have a Belkin F5D7230-4. I went into Virtual Servers (port forwarding) and forwarded ports 3389 (TCP & UDP) and 80. When I put in my external IP address, I simply get my router page. If I throw in the /tsweb for RDC, it gives me “Page cannot be displayed.” I then threw a generic page out under c:\windows\web and tried to connect to that, but had no luck. I then tried changing my tcp port for IIS on my “Default Website” (under Admin Tools > Internet Information Services) and then tried http://:\tsweb and got nothing. My Windows Firewall is disabled, though I tried enabling and opening the ports there as well. Do I need to get outside of my network for the external IP to work? I don’t believe my modem is a router – it’s a Touchstone Telephony Modem (Comcast). Thanks!
Omigoodness, thank you so much! I hope that works! I’ve been looking at this for a couple of hours now. The reason I’m forwarding port 80 is b/c I did change the TCP port to something else earlier on and I changed it back to 80 just in case. I was also trying to get that simple page I threw out there to show up. I’m off to bed right now, but I’ll try once I’m at work tomorrow and get back with you guys! Thanks again!

I have a belkin n wireless router connected to comcast modem. I have been trying to change the ip address but havent been able to do it yet.

*I tried doing through cmd by releasing and renewing. it doesnt work.
*I tried going through network properties and changing tcpip 4 settings there ip address to manual and changing it back to automatic, that doesnt work either.

I just need the steps to follow through going into routers address and then do something from there to change it.

Could someone please tell me how i can do this?

I’ve done everything else and I am looking to see if anyone else has a belkin router setup with SBC yahoo dsl.

I have a Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless G Router. I’ve had it for about 6 months and it’s worked nearly fault free. I got home from holiday tonight & found that it had been switched off from the mains and when it was switched back on would not connect to the internet. After checking the router I saw that the phone light was not illuminated. I’ve tried unplugging and replugging it with little success. Any ideas? Does anyone know what might be wrong?
Thanks mdigitale but the Modem and Router are one box and cannot be separated, i have attempted restarting it

I have two routers:
Both are ADSL Modem Routers

- One F5D7632-4
- One F5D7630-4A

The only difference between the two is the F5D7632-4 has a few more features, such as Wireless Access Point and NAT.

So I have tried this, but don’t know where to begin. What I essentially want to do is cut out the need for a wire between my room and my brother’s. So to do this I need two routers, obviously.

The router in my room will be the F5D7632-4, as this is also where the internet connection is. The router in my brother’s room will be the F5D7630-4A.

The router in my room has the following basic settings:
SSID: HOMENET
128Bit WEP Key
IP: 192.168.2.1
PPPoA Connection Type (to connect to the internet through ADSL)

The router in my room has the following basic settings:
SSID: HOMENET
128Bit WEP Key
IP: 192.168.2.101

My laptop has internet through wifi and I want to share it with my pc and iphone (their wifi are not strong enough to pick up the access point.) I have a belkin router. So, can I make my ethernet connection on my laptop as an adsl modem and connect to the router? Thanks.

After searching around I was able to get wired connections working through my belkin wireless G+ router by imitating the Mac address of the computer that the touchstone telephony modem was originally configured for. Now my next problem is I am unable to access the internet via wireless. I can connect to the router, I’m also able to access my router settings wirelessly as well as other computers on the network, but no luck getting the actual internet. My best guess is it may have something to do with the modem and DNS, but I don’t know what to do. Any help with this problem is greatly appreciated.
Alright, so I found out the problem wasn’t with the modem at all, but rather with the router, and involving DNS issues. It turns out that the router fails to accurately assign wireless connections the DNS it gets from the modem. I had to manually configure my TCP/IP settings to point to the modem’s DNS. So my new question, is there a way to fix this? Can I get my router to point to the correct DNS address for wireless connections?
