can i use the belkin wireless router 802.11g to share broadband internet with cat5e cable from the belkin to my computer, or does it have to be wireless?

any reasons why this would happen? i have rest it back to factory settings several times and it still does it. some days it doesn’t do it all and others it can do it up to 5 times a day.

Well, I just bought two HP laptops for my nieces, one somewhat of an older version than the other, but both are new. My Belkin router is compatible with only one of them wirelessly, however (the older version). How do I make it compatible to both?

I recently created a survey and put it on DMZ and then took it back off aftre i decided to start port forwarding.

Well, when i go to DHCP settings it ONLY shows the IP of my server and not the other 6 computers on my network.

The other computers are still connected to the internet, but when i ping them it says request timed out.

How do i fix this?

I have had my router for a while now and it has been working fine. i just discovered something wrong with it though. i tried to get on safari from my ipod touch, but it doesnt work. i went to my router’s homepage from my touch and right now the internet status says connected, but ive had this problem before because even though it says it is connected, its not. i always change my connection type to PPPoE and that usually seemed to work. now, when i change it my internet status changes to not connected and it doesnt work. my router’s lights are lit up on wireless, internet, and modem and i dont have security in it anymore. i cant do anything with the router anymore and i really need help i have no idea what else to do so please help!!!

I have a Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless G Router. I’ve had it for about 6 months and it’s worked nearly fault free. I got home from holiday tonight & found that it had been switched off from the mains and when it was switched back on would not connect to the internet. After checking the router I saw that the phone light was not illuminated. I’ve tried unplugging and replugging it with little success. Any ideas? Does anyone know what might be wrong?
Thanks mdigitale but the Modem and Router are one box and cannot be separated, i have attempted restarting it

Ok, if you have any experience on Belkin routers I would really appreciate your help.
The case is the following:
I have a Wireless Belkin 56g adsl modem/router, which I previously used for an ADSL connection.
I now use 10Mb Cable ADSL, NTL ISP, and I was wondering if it is possible to use this rourer. You see it is a modem/router and not a astand alone router. It has an input port for adsl line, coming from a telephone line using a filter, and 4 ethernet ports. Can I connect the current cable modem to one of the four ethernet ports and get internet connectivity and network connectivity or is it hopeless?
Are these ethernet ports, input too? Or just output? It seems to work, the wireless works, but I get no internet connectivity..What is the appropriate protocol to use? PPPoe?
The modem has only one ethernet port, which I connect to one of the router’s ports. So is it possible to use this router as a stand alone device? Please help, I have spent so much time on it…..

I cannot access my router. Since I disabled its DHCP server capability, has there been a different IP address alocated to it?

Hi i just got my belkin n+ wireless router, and i can not bring it to connect to the internet. The thing is, that actually it requires a separate modem to connect to, but i only have a LAN pppoe cable and no not have access to the remote modem. So is there a way to solve this issue?

I am missing something pretty simple and I am good at this. I setup it up on a cable modem fine no problems but this DSL is a PPPoE and I dont know nuthin about it? HELP

Hi yesterday we changed from a g router to a n+, we connected the computers and ps3′s but the xbox’s wont connect due to the mtu not being 1364, now i went on the router configuration site and changed it 1364 on PPPoA but everytime ido it keeps reverting back to what it was before i changed it which was Modem only no internet sharing, do i need to change the setting directly to the router with a ethernet cable as i am upstairs on my laptop with wireless attempting to change the settings.
