I am looking to run a gigabit ethernet network off of my cable modem. Can someone tell me what setup I should use starting from the modem and in which order:
- Switch/Router to attach 24 Cat6 cables to?
- Where to position my Airport Extreme WIFI base station
Correct, we have a business cable modem connection, using wide-band technology, with a 20MB down and 5MB up.

We currently run from the modem into the airport extreme and from there to a 24 port switch (non Gigabit).

I’d like to improve/manage the system better. What equipment for our small office environment would you recommend to attach. Based on your comments I guess it’s:
Modem>Router>gigabit switch>airport extreme

Any makes/models of these you recommend?

I want to connect several computers (90) to a wireless access point, and was wondering if we could all access the internet at the same time. Would it be really slow. Would a T1 or T3 (whatever those are make it faster).

I have a D-Link DI524 Wireless G Router that I am trying to connect from my desktop to get wireless for my laptop. We have a Touchtone Telephony Modem through Comcast that connects to our desktop through a USB cable. When I follow the instructions in connecting the router to both the desktop and the modem with Ethernet cables I lose connection on the desktop and cannot connect to wireless on the laptops. The Local Connection in Network Connections is no longer there also. Is it possible the desktop is not Ethernet compatible? I have no idea, thanks.

I have a ton of cat5 cables coming out of the walls of our house, but they don’t have anything on the end for which to attach them to something. How do i put a pin or head on the end to make it usable?

I need an additional handset for my voip phone. I am thinking about splitting the connection coming out of the voip device and attaching two phones. Does anyone know if that will work?
