Can I have more than one modem with AT&T with no extra fees?

I just got an Xbox 360 and need to connect it to the internet. Instead of getting a 50′ CAT5e network cable I thought about connecting an additional modem in the living room since we have several old ones laying around. Since each individual modem has separate IP addresses, would I get charged extra for it with AT&T?
Also, do I need a computer at the modem for it to work? The modem would only be connected to the 360 in the living room.

how do i connect two computers to AT&T modem?

I have 4 ports in the back of the modem. I have one cat5 cable to one computer and that works. But when i connect a second cat5 cable from a second port to the second computer the device on that computer says the cable is not connected or is unplugged ( it’s not! ).

Will AT&T install a new drop line and install a new NID and run Cat5 wire when we get U-verse installed?

I live in a 1960′s built home with old wiring the drop line is in ok condition does have some cracks though. The NID is on a brick wall outside (about to fall off) and is orignal to the house I think. The inside phone line isnt in a very good place I need it to be in my home office (way on the other side of the house) as for the Cat5 I’ve heard they will run i through the attic for up to 3 TV’s and a line to the RG (residential gateway) there is about 10 year old coax and I am sick of looking at it. I am geting U-verse in 3 rooms and the RG will be in the office. Will they do this work for free? and if not how much money am I looking at spending I don’t want to spend a huge amount.
