I have an Ethernet cord and my laptop that is wirelessly connected to the internet. I want to connect my old iMac G3 to the internet from my laptop. How can I do this?
My laptop is using Windows 7.

Unfortunately the ethernet cables are in fixed positions to the old router. I was wondering if I’d be able to bridge this old router to the new one with another ethernet cable and be able to connect to the new router via the old one? Thanks.

I have my Dell Laptop running Windows Xp and I have a Compaq desktop running Windows 98SE. My laptop get wireless internet. Can I connect a cross over cat5 cable to my desktop and give it internet? If so what would I have to do with setting up a network and what not? Thanks a ton!

I just got a new laptop which is running windows vista and I am trying to transfer all of my music and pictures from my old desktop which has XP. I don’t have a monitor for the desktop so I am wondering if there is a way to transfer the data through usb, and if not, is there a way to transfer through CAT5

I have a 240 remote client machines that point to the name of a particular server. When they call this server I need this server to forward that request onto another server. I am not able to make any change to the clients. I must do this at the server level. I have a dns server and a dhcp server.

Connecting both computers to an ethernet DSL router gives me a local area network (LAN). I want to transfer files from the old Windows 98 SE computer to the new Windows XP computer. Does anyone know of a freeware program that will do this in a straightforward manner? Are there any special considerations?

I am currently with AOL. The service recently has been awful…well for the past 8 months or so (i.e pings over 500 in certain games, some games don’t connect, regular down time) so i started looking to find new broadband companies. I came across talk talk which seems to rated highly among some independent websites, but i recently found out that talk talk own AOL… does this mean that i will still get the same shoddy service?

Our guest house is 20-30 yards away, how do I run an Ethernet cable to it, what does this entail?

I use a Hosted PBX system in my office. We already contract 3 phones from them and each phone has their own phone number. I need to add another phone, is it possible for me to buy from someone else and connect it to the PBS system provided by the provider?

I didn’t realize that there were cheaper alternatives out there and unfortunately I have one more year left in our contract.

The modem is zyxel Prestige 660RU-T1 which was provided by my ISP, BT Ireland. They utilise the PPPoE protocol (which I have no idea what it means) to deliver their broadband service to me.

The router I want to use is Linksys WAG354G, European model.

I just got a PS3 and the WiFi tends to cut out for my online play. I have an ethernet cable and and a plate for an outlet, but I dont know how to put it into use. I have a ethernet jack upstairs but it is being used for another computer. Can i put another ethernet jack in my basement without having to run a wire from the upstairs to the basement? Thank you! I am in an area where there is free public WIFI internet but i can’t get a good signal because my room is in the basement. Is it possiable to use my router to boost the signal commimng from the public wifi router?

My router is a – Linksys WRT54G ver.7

BTW I can’t access any of the public routers settings.
