what could be the issue if i cant surf and…?

im pulling a valid ip address and can ping by ip address but cant surf by url or ping by url. sounds like some type of dns issue…..but im pulling the correct dns servers….already tried a system restore, winsock reset, and also a ipconfig /flushdns…what else could fix this??
calbe connection going directly to the pc, no router involved
could the windows firewall do it?
nah i already tried that…i actually work for comcast and trying to troubleshoot a customers issue…..still dont know what the issue was

im planning on buying a d link n wireless router and…..?

i want to know do i need a dsl modem because only thing i got is a telephony modem and a regular modem

Why do I always have to refresh and/ or renew the DHCP lease on my D-Link Wireless router?

At least 3 times a week I have to go to my desktop and refresh / renew the DHCP lease so that I can connect to the internet on my laptop. Why?
