How to make a Cat6 Network Cable

Cat6 is the 6th generation of twisted pair Ethernet Cabling. Cat6 patch cables provides higher performance than Cat5e and features more stringent specifications for crosstalk and system noise. Cat6 cables and components are backward compatible with Cat5 and Cat5e.Cat6 cables will deliver stable performance to 550 Mhz. Each Cat6 cable comes UL verified, and meets EIA/TIA Cat6 TIA/EIA 568-B-2.1, draft 9 standards. Cat6 patch cables will handle Bandwidth intensive applications up to 550 Mhz and beyond and reduce both impedance and structural return loss as compared to standard 100 Mhz cable!

Connector: 50-micron gold plated RJ-45 Male to Male

  • [..YouTube..] How to make a Cat6 Network Cable?? u need a cat6 cable Lmao wow

  • [..YouTube..] THANK YOU – helped me immeasurably!

  • [..YouTube..] Holds the wire together inside the wire? CABLE!!!

  • [..YouTube..] Golden rule of network cabling: Only make them when absolutely nessecary. Purchasing them at a retail store is still the best method of choice for installing cable due to the increased chance of human error. Machines are far less prone to missing wiring assignments, (not wired in correct order) then we are. Plus they crimp the cable a lot better. Not to mention man-made ethernet cables are far prone to EMI then industrial ones you buy from retail store.

  • [..YouTube..] You tool. They’re so damn cheap it doesn’t matter. Like i’m gonna pay for 30 dollar cable that will last 5 more months than my 8 dollar one. get outta town.

  • [..YouTube..] agreed, but crossover cables are ridiculously expensive so when i need one, of a i just make one for cheaper.

  • [..YouTube..] pair of scissors ???? use your crimping tool, which by the way cut better!!!

  • [..YouTube..] lol ur phone rang…nice video

  • [..YouTube..] whats teh difference between cat6 and cat5? would they work on a XboX 360?

  • [..YouTube..] No,no, no…imcomplete, very slow and missing peaces.

  • [..YouTube..] What code was that guy using C code??? He inserted the head the wrong way. The clip side should be faceing the floor not you.

  • [..YouTube..] Ok, your right. When networking an entire server rack, it is a lot better to spend 2500 bucks rather than 200. Way smarter your way.

  • [..YouTube..] Cat5e and Cat6 are basically the same, but Cat6 (as you could’ve red in the video description) provides better shielding than Cat5e does, because it has a sort kind of “chamber” system inside to keep all the pairs nicely positioned next to each other.
Cat6 thereby provides not only the 10 Base-T and 100 Base-T networks, but also the 1000Base-T (also known as Gigabit) networks.
Reaching that speed is almost impossible with home build cables though.
Oh and yes: you can connect your Xbox with it.

  • [..YouTube..] Whats the difference between CAT5 CAT6? Number of twist right? But the processes is the same, isn’t it?

  • [..YouTube..] The difference is CAT6 is faster in data transfer. I think the process is pretty much the same, though.

  • [..YouTube..] Wrong. Cat 5e (what most people mean when they say “Cat 5″) and Cat 6 BOTH support Gigabit Ethernet. The difference is in the degrees of shielding, not speed.

According to Wikipedia (as of this comment): “Cat-6 features more stringent specifications for crosstalk and system noise.” Also notice the plastic core and string not present in 5e.

The article also says Cat 6 is “expected to suit the 10GBASE-T (10Gigabit Ethernet) standard”

  • [..YouTube..] Yes, sort of. Cat 5e can go to 1gbps, but that is pushing it. Cat 6 does that easily, and exceeds 1gbps.

Most cat 5e cable isn’t shielded, but some is. Not all cat 6 cable is shielded.

  • [..YouTube..] Nice try. Keep it up check out esteembpo + com for social media marketing. hjnfj

  • [..YouTube..] do u need the little plastic peace or can u use rj45 connector without it?

  • [..YouTube..] First of all, you should always wire for TIA “A” standard, phones work on blue/ blue/white, orange/orange/white. Who makes a patch cable? Patch cables are made from stranded cable, so they can withstand twists better. Otherwise thx for the video :)

  • [..YouTube..] roflmfaool his accent is funny but damn thanks for the help

  • [..YouTube..] ???
at 0:45 you say that the plastic spine that runs the length of the cable is to “keep the wires together” — the function of the plastic spine is just the opposite! it’s to keep the twisted pairs SEPARATED from each other, maximizing the signal integrity of each pair

that aside, thanks for the helpful video

  • [..YouTube..] I dont have and couldn’t find that RJ45 connector, I just found the regular ones without “plastic piece” used in cat5, can that be used?

  • [..YouTube..] hi.. your video was too cool.. i want too learn more from you.. anyway.. can i have your permission to use your video for school purpose.. coz i’m taking my thesis right now.. and i need your video to embed to my system.. i’m glad if you agree.. thanks.. plz reply

  • [..YouTube..] Your method is time consuming! Maybe I’ll respond to this video one day.. =)

  • [..YouTube..] i agree with dubc0723, ur method is so time consuming. imagine if u hv to crimp 1000 points!!! you dont hv to cut the cable in an angle. just slide ALL of them thru…

  • [..YouTube..] He should inserted the connector upside. white orange was inserted to pin 8. The “cable ” will pass on the cable tester but not on actual network equipments.

  • [..YouTube..] @bwisitnamanito

wow u are smart. what type of cat 6 is the fastest. i am looking to upgrade an old network for a client of mine. what do you suggest

  • [..YouTube..] @dubc0723

when u make one PLEASE let me know

  • [..YouTube..] I need help plz, I’m not getting any sound when I pulled the wire like you did on 3:34. Am I doing wrong?

  • [..YouTube..] hey #VIDEOPOSTERID#, head over to |stream episodes [dot] net| to be able to watch complete episodes and movies given that youtube won’t permit these kind of videos.

  • t0e1:

[..YouTube..] What is that little plastic piece, that he is sliding the wires through, so they will all be lined up and easy to slide into the rj45 connector? And where can I purchase them?

    Someone please tell :)

  • [..YouTube..] Thank you for this very useful video!

  • [..YouTube..] Over 5 minutes for ONE connection. like the scissors too! Do you not possess a pair of snips? :-)

  • [..YouTube..] @BahoUtot lol i think that is his phone ringing

  • [..YouTube..] dutch English sucks

  • [..YouTube..] ill just stick to buying the 1 doller ethernet cable

  • [..YouTube..] Thank you so very much for the post!!! I am doing this today by the way at the new job. It is my first time. Thanks!

  • [..YouTube..] I bought 40m of cat 6 with rj45 already on both ends, is it worth bothering to shorten the cable length if I only need 30m?

  • [..YouTube..] The context maybe great but the quality of the video itself is so poor!… Hard to see the details we must be able to see.

  • [..YouTube..] this stupid fuck has no clue how to this.i do this for a living
